We take a personal approach to business, developing close working relationships with the companies we invest in, empowering them to create businesses of real value. As an owner managed business ourselves, we understand the daily challenges of operating and growing a successful business.

Our regional and sector focus means we can give companies access to our specialist knowledge, resources and expertise and networking opportunities with other companies in the portfolio.

We can make decisions quickly. We have a rigorous investment appraisal process but dedicated time and energy means that lead times to completion of investments are always tightly managed.

We look for talented management teams with a well developed proposition and vision, providing the equity capital they need to be successful and guiding them through to a profitable exit. Our aim is to achieve this within seven years.

Our ability to assist our investee companies achieve this is demonstrated by the numerous profitable exits achieved across all three of the funds that we manage. Just a few notable examples include:

• Scriptswitch - 12 times return on original investment whilst retaining a significant stake in the business following investment by Isis Equity Partners
• MVI Holdings - sale to US trade buyer generating a 60% Internal Rate of Return
• Minivator - 7 times return on investment following secondary management buy-out

Our experience shows that many businesses will require more than the initial round of funding we have provided and we work proactively with our investee companies to introduce them to appropriate funders at the right time. To date, the companies we have invested in have successfully raised in excess of £75m from other equity providers.
